vital records sources: the only primary evidence of her birth is when the Town Clerk of Berkley added her name to a previous list of children of Ebenezer and Margaret and only included her birth year (see Berkely Town Records, 1:240, digitized at ancestry.com, "Massachusetts U.S Town and Vital Records, Berkley, Town Records, with Births, Marraiges, and Deaths," image 123. Clement Briggs of Plymouth Colony and His Descendants, 1621-1965 says she was born on 5 May. No source is given for her birth and death except a cryptic citation after her death, "ae 43 y," which refers to the Berkley vital records, 2:213. There is no record of the Briggs or Redding families on this page. The full date probably comes from a family Bible in the collections of the NYS DAR, which is mentioned several times in the list of her children. Her death is in the latter, 2:259, ancestry.com image 273.
